JBL has purchased, renovated and built various types of Real Estate assets
throughout the city of Baltimore, Maryland. While our roots were
originally in residential rehabs and adaptive reuse projects, we are now
in the midst of tremendous growth with the purchase and development of
multiple commercial real estate projects throughout the city’s commercial
corridors.
URBAN
COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT
JBL finds neighborhoods in the city where retail development has not followed
the recent curve of residential development. Our goal is to reinvigorate
previously known commercial corridors or to follow the lead of vibrant neighborhoods
creating new retail opportunities. We build ground up, or adaptively
reuse previously built buildings. Most projects include elements of “green”
building.
WORKFORCE
HOUSING
True to their belief in homeownership, JBL is making a conscious decision
to build workforce housing throughout Baltimore. The company’s priority to provide housing that is affordable
to moderate-income households will have a positive impact in such Baltimore neighborhoods as Hampden, Station North, Greenmount West, Westport,
Brooklyn, Morrell Park, and others.
UNLOVED
PROPERTIES
The recent real estate market has brought attention to the abundance
of sub-par properties throughout the City of Baltimore. JBL believes
these unloved sites, when a strategic fit for the company, are opportunities
to make a difference. JBL’s in-house management and construction divisions
enable the economic transformation of such properties.
JBL’s response to Baltimore’s current housing needs and trends has put
the company at the forefront of local developers whose projects are revitalizing the city. Having determined niches in workforce housing, mixed-use re-development, and the stabilization of unloved properties, JBL is quickly becoming an expert in recognizing urban growth opportunities that enrich neighborhoods by transforming under-utilized sites into thriving properties.
