Develop properties that are ripe for re-development, transforming such
sites into thriving residential or mixed-use entities that improve the
surrounding neighborhoods through our commitment to green building,
inclusive development, and community service.

JBL Real Estate (JBL) is an urban developer located in Baltimore, Maryland.
The company was established in 2002 by the father-and-son team of Jeffrey
and Jeremy Landsman. JBL focuses its activities on the developing and leasing of commercial properties, urban workforce housing, and purchasing and stabilizing “unloved”
apartment complexes in the City of Baltimore, a city whose growth and
vitality is personal to JBL. The company has completed 50+ projects in
various neighborhoods and has earned a solid reputation among local developers
and with the public.

The overall philosophy of JBL is to “Do Well by Doing Good.” The firm
pursues specific projects that are socially, financially, and environmentally
beneficial. The ultimate objective of all the projects is to enhance
the surrounding neighborhoods. Residential projects encourage diversity
and provide living options while mixed-use projects present financial
opportunities for the community. Extremely respectful of natural resources,
JBL implements green building and utilizes renewable residential real
estate resources (what they call the 4 “R”s) for all of the company’s
projects through the renovation, adaptive re-use, and new construction
of under-utilized properties.
JBL is fully committed to the neighborhoods where the company chooses
to develop and build. If needed, the company will make improvements to
the public streetscape by repairing streets, adding or replacing street
lights, etc. For mixed-use projects, the company retains and manages
the commercial space, which keeps JBL connected to the neighborhoods
even after the project is complete.
To JBL, these projects are more than business ventures –they are examples
of how by physically improving individual neighborhoods and encouraging
diversity among residents and businesses, the city can be successfully
and positively revitalized.
